The glory of common people
This effect is generally done by using two separate photos then splicing the lower half (water with reflection) over the upper image. The effective time displacement allows viewers to see the front and back of the model simultaneously for a 4D effect (the fourth dimension being that of time) illustrating the concept that all we perceive with our five senses is but a small slice of what we think of as reality. Quantum physics tells us that at the subatomic level reality exists like frames of a motion picture film (called a Planck length) we perceive one frame at a time. We could, in theory see into both the past and the future but we experience only the ‘now’. If the image was given a title by the imager it was probably more poetic that what I believe should be “Time Traveler” or (dare I say) “Quantum Leap”. Perhaps the latter would be more appropriate had Scott Bacula been the subject model. But that one was done in a parallel universe alternate reality.
